West Geauga Board of Education Regular Board Meeting - 7/22/2024


Meeting Details: The West Geauga Board of Education met on July 22, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the Board Office Community Room, 8615 Cedar Road in Chester Township. Meetings are open to the public and media. The meeting agenda and minutes are available online. Look for the Meeting tab in the right

Call to Order - The meeting was called to order, roll call was conducted, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

  • Superintendent Report - Observer Note:  this report was given by the Assistant SuperintendentDr. Nancy Benincasa, in the absence of Dr. Markwardt.  Dr. Markwardt was present for the August 5, 2024 meeting.  The summer has been busy for the administrative staff in preparation for the upcoming school year.  There are several open positions to be filled and the staff is receiving applications for these openings.  Staff orientation and training will get underway on August 14th.  The board is invited to attend these sessions.  The administration is reviewing the current cell phone policy after receiving some guidance from the state.
