PROGRAM TITLE:  The Electoral College:  Pillar of Democracy or Relic of the Past?

Voting is a pillar of our Democracy and each person's vote is important. But what is the Electoral College and how does it work? Why have U.S. Presidents been elected without winning the popular vote? Does this mean someone else's vote counts more than yours? What is the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact?

These and other critical questions will be addressed in an educational program hosted by The League of Women Voters of Geauga and presented by Douglas Brattebo, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science and Director of the James A. Garfield Center for the Study of American Presidency at Hiram College. Dr. Brattebo has spent his career studying presidential campaigns, elections, voting behavior and the Electoral College.

Date / Time:  January 15, 2025, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00 pm)
Location:  Geauga County Library Administrative Center, 12701 Ravenwood Dr., Chardon
